Everytimer Automobile can transform your E88 cabrio into a classic
The world is currently obsessed with retro design. Whether it’s a car or a kitchen appliance, we want things to look just like they did back in the ‘good old days’. Whenever they were.
Of course, car makers have jumped on the trend and 2018 gave us some of the best (and worst) attempts at retro-inspired design in our era.

Whereas most are completely new cars with retro touches though, Everytimer Automobile is here to take your E88 BMW 1 Series Convertible back through a time warp – merging the mechanics of a modern(ish) Beemer with the design of the iconic 2002.
The German company has developed a carbon body shell that echoes one of BMW’s most coveted classics but leaves the mechanics of the 1 Series untouched.
Body swaps are a dangerous game in motoring. The term alone evokes thoughts of poorly put-together Toyota MR2s with a fake Ferrari F355 body.
However, the Everytimer ETA 02 Cabrio does a good job of recreating the 2002’s famous boxy shape and instantly recognisable grille first introduced back in 1966. Even the round headlights have been brought into the modern era with Bi-Xenon bulbs at the front and LEDs at the back.
All panels except the A pillar, raked windscreen and the roof lid are new, and Everytimer will also fit retro dials and new interior fabrics to complete the look. Price? Potentially limitless, what with it being completely bespoke.
