Adopting the same theme showcased on the athletic Corolla Furia Concept during the 2013 North American International Auto Show in January, the all-new Corolla Altis looks sharper, sleeker and sportier than the out going model.

'With 10 generations and over 40 million happy owners, the Toyota Corolla Altis is the world's best-selling car, and a legendary name amongst automobile makers and consumers alike,' said Mr. Koh Ching Hong, Managing Director of Borneo Motors Singapore.

'Today, that legend has been redefined by fusing the best qualities of its predecessors, and we are confident that it will also redefine the driving experience of what our customers have come to expect from it.'

The all-new 'rolla is powered by a 1.6-liter, DOHC engine with Dual VVT-i that produces 122hp and 154Nm torque. Fuel economy is rated at 6.5l/100km and CO2, 151g/km. The sole transmission option is the Super Continuously Variable Transmission with intelligence (CVT-i), which Toyota engineers claim delivers a "sensation more similar to traditional hydraulic automatic transmission." It also features a "manual" override 7spd sequential mode.

Some notable features on the new 'rolla: keyless entry, electric trunk release, auto dimming rear mirror, headlights, wipers, climate control, "Nanoe Ion" generator, DVD navigation system and a 4-speaker system with "bamboo fiber" diaphragms.

The new Corolla Altis goes on sale with a price tag starting from S$132,988 - inclusive of S$5,000 CEVS rebate.
