Get a look at the race ready Lotus Emira GT4 on track

It would seem that the racing world reckons the new Lotus Emira GT4 might be quite handy, because only now are we seeing pictures of the finished car on track for the first time, and yet the Norfolk-based firm has announced that it is already sold out for the first year of production.

Need a quick recap? Back in September 2021 Lotus announced that it was planning to take the Emira racing. The GT4 uses the same Toyota-sourced 3.5-litre V6 as the road car, but here the power (400bhp if balance of performance regs allow) is sent through an Xtrac six-speed sequential gearbox.

There’s a 96-litre fuel tank too, plus a competition-spec braking package, Bilstein springs and adjustable Ohlins dampers. Oh, and that giant rear wing and an ankle-chopping front splitter.

It complies with all FIA GT4 regs of course and all-in Lotus says it weighs just 1,300kg. The newly created Lotus Advanced Performance team worked with RML Group on the project and the £165,000 racer was shown off at Hethel recently, with ‘VIP guests’ taken on passenger laps with Lotus’s Gavan Kershaw at the wheel.

Enjoy those bonus shots of the GT4 with the Ford V8-engined Type 30 too.
