Gran Turismo 7 takes over Ten Square Building

Oh joy of joys, Gran Turismo 7 is back. The latest instalment Sony’s sim racing video game series finally makes a comeback.

The Gran Turismo series began in 1997 with the launch of the original game on the very first Playstation console. At the time, it was lauded for being the best racing sim in the video game scene (Before the dawn of Microsoft’s Forza Motorsport series).

25 years on, we now have the 7th instalment of the coveted driving simulator, available exclusively on the Playstation 5 and Playstation 4. A first for the series, which has never seen a multi-console release in its previous generations.

In conjunction with Gran Turismo 7’s launch, Sony Interactive Entertainment Singapore (SIES) orchestrated a unique takeover of Ten Square Building, a “car vending machine” located along Slegie road on the corner of Short Street.

The game launch saw Ten Square building lit up with a plethora of brightly coloured cars in the building facade. 15 of them to be exact, all real exotic and classic cars from the likes of Ferrari, Porsche, Aston Martin, Mercedes, BMW and McLaren. All of which are also available in-game for anyone from Esports aficionados to casual gamers to take for a virtual spin.

The launch event also saw local personalities Claire Jedrek and Bobby Tonelli hosting a virtual livestream, along with several other motorsports personalities in Southeast Asia including Jazeman Jaafar and JP Chin from Malaysia, Marlon Stockinger from the Philippines and Pete Thongchua from Thailand.

Gran Turismo 7 is now available in stores!! Time to get in the (virtual) hot seat.
