Singapore - Hong Seh Evolution (or HSEV for short), a subsidiary of the Hong Seh Group, has been appointed dealer to sell the BYD T3 Electric Van by ST Engineering’s Mobility Services business, which is the authorised distributor for the T3 in Singapore. Selling electric vehicles is not a new business for Hong Seh, as it has also been selling parallel-imported Teslas.

Hong Seh Motors is a veteran in the automotive trade, having been involved in the industry for almost 40 years. These days, it specialises in premium and high-end sportscar models, but also has its thumb in the electrification pie, while another subsidiary, Hong Seh Marine markets luxury yachts.

The BYD T3 is an all-electric light compact van with a 780kg payload and 3.8m³ cargo space. Full-charge gets you about 300km and the electric motor’s 70kW and 180Nm should endow the zero-emissions van with reasonably brisk performance.

Mr. Edward Tan, Executive Director of HSEV says, “We are excited to partner ST Engineering as we firmly believe that electrification is the future and Hong Seh EVolution is delighted to be part of the first steps towards that. This partnership is also timely and in line with the government’s support of the growth of electric vehicles in Singapore. With the government funding of up to S$30k and increase in petrol duties, it is a perfect opportunity to encourage businesses to reduce their carbon footprint. We believe that electrification will dominate the industry in building a cleaner and sustainable Singapore.”
