IWC Schaffhausen and Mercedes-AMG's Pilot Chrono Edition “AMG”

Feast your eyes on the brand-new collaboration between IWC Schaffhausen and Mercedes-AMG. This is the IWC Pilot’s Watch Chronograph Edition “AMG”, reference number IW377903. Quite a mouthful, isn’t it? Allow us to digest it a little for you.

This AMG edition pilot chronograph has a 43mm case constructed out of 5N titanium, a material that is often used in the automotive industry and the first pilot’s chronograph made out of this exotic metal. Lightweight, scratch-resistant, and extremely hard.

The beating heart of this timepiece is an IWC-manufactured 69385 calibre, the first for an IWC Pilot Chronograph. Front and centre, you've got a woven carbonfibre dial, just like you'd find on Mercedes-AMG's. Set against the dial are three silver subdials, complete with dial graphics that have been finished in an "AMG-spec" grey.

On the back is a darkened sapphire glass case back with “AMG” lettering plastered across the surface. The open caseback gives viewers a peek of the IWC movement. Completing the look is a calf leather that is embossed, stylised to appear like carbonfibre.

The watch was unveiled at an online webcast, hosted by Chris Grainger-Herr, CEO of IWC Schaffhausen, Philipp Schiemer, CEO of Mercedes-AMG, featuring Maro Engel, GT3 race driver and brand ambassador of IWC. Maro is also the man who took the Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series around the Nürburgring Nordschleife in 6:43.616 minutes, setting the record for street-legal production cars.

The watch will be available for pre-order from 21st May onwards through IWC boutiques, authorised retailers or on IWC.com.
