Mercedes-Benz GLB goes electric. EQB 7-seater compact SUV launched
Singapore - Mercedes-EQ has just launched another EV. The EQB (the electric version of the GLB), is offered in three-variants. The range begins with the EQB 250 Progressive, which is priced at S$305,888*, while there is a fancier EQB 250 Electric Art, which retails for S$313,888*. Both cars produce 188hp and 385Nm, with drive to the front wheels.
The range-topping EQB 350 AMG Line which retails for S$352,888* on the other hand, produces 328hp and 520Nm, feeding drive through a dual motor 4Matic all-wheel-drive setup.
The EQB is also the first Mercedes here that can be reserved (with a refundable deposit) from the German brand’s online store. More about this here.
The EQB differentiates itself from its ICE sibling, with a wind-blocking grille, and a light bar at the rear, similar to what we see on the EQA. The interior is near-identical too, with twin 10.25-inch screens, one which fronts its voice controlled MBUX infotainment system. It also retains its 7-seater capabilities… Well, to be accurate, it is more of a 5+2 seater, as the third row will not accommodate adults comfortably. With the rear seats folded, the EQB offers 465 litres of cargo space, which can be extended to as much as 1620 litres, with the middle row folded.

The official maximum range for the EQB 250 is 474km, while the more powerful EQB 350 does 423km. Both power variants can be AC charged in around 6.25 hours, while 50kW DC charging to 100% can be completed in about an hour. Batteries are guaranteed for up to 8 years or 160,000km.
The EQB, launched after the EQS flagship sedan, is the latest in the salvo of EVs launched by Mercedes-EQ. We can expect the EQE (E-Class) executive sedan, and EQV (V-Class) van to follow suit in the coming months.
