No, it’s not the Bugatti Galibier: it’s the swoopy four-door Ora 07

Internet, say hello to Ora’s next offering (the Ora 07 aka Grand Cat). This dramatic four-door sedan/coupe thing has been on sale in China since late 2022 as the excellently titled Lightning Cat.

And before you unofficially christen it, let’s get the potential design similarities out of the way. Our first thought – and this is a big compliment to Ora – was of the Bugatti Galibier.

No seriously, just get a look at that rear end and the lights. Separated at birth?

And there’s more than a hint of first-generation Porsche Panamera too (a car that has aged rather gracefully, we reckon) plus there’s some of the same MINI influences as seen in the Ora Funky Cat hatch. All comes together rather nicely though, we'd proffer.

There will be a number of different iterations with both two-wheel drive and four-wheel drive electric powertrains. The latter should get 395bhp, 680Nm of torque and a 0-100km/h time of 4.4 seconds. That’s got our attention. Plus, we’re promised a WLTP range of over 480km.

And while the quality of the interior materials might come under scrutiny when it reaches production, it's certainly a good-looking cabin. We’re told that the panoramic glass roof, synthetic leather seats and multi-coloured ambient lighting will all be standard fit too.

More specs and details – including that all-important name (for the UK) – will be announced in the near future, with some local testing set to take place ahead of its launch on our shores. Suggestions for what it should be known as over here in the comments below please.
