Singapore - Nissan and Tan Chong Motor Sales, the exclusive distributor of Nissan passenger and light commercial vehicles in Singapore, has launched the Nissan Note e-POWER hatchback, the third e-Power model in Singapore to join the Serena and Kicks e-Power models.

Two variants are available – Lite and Premium – with prices starting from S$99,800 (with COE and complimentary servicing up to 50,000km).

If you didn't know, the e-Power models are powered by Nissan’s electrified powertrain, which is able to deliver 100 per cent electric motor drive without the constraints of charging the battery via a wall-box.

In the instance of the e-Power models, the 1.2-litre 3cyl petrol engine does not power the car directly, but works as a 'generator' to power the electric drivetrain, so owners continue to fill'er up as they would any conventional internal combustion engined (or ICE) car.

The upsides to this 'bridge' between ICE and EV are: enjoying some of the benefits of the electric drivetrain without the hassle of installing a wall-box at home, or looking for a charging space near your home/office.

“Nissan aims to deliver the excitement and benefit of electrified vehicles to as many people as possible”, said Isao Sekiguchi, Regional Vice President for Nissan in ASEAN. “The launch of the all-new Nissan Note e-POWER in Singapore is a further testament to Nissan’s commitment to make electrified vehicles more accessible.”

“The all-new Note e-POWER has an eye-catchingly bold new design inside and out. Its sleek, futuristic exterior is matched by a spacious interior featuring state-of-the-art technology. It’s suitable for trendy, active people and young families, with premium features such as Zero Gravity seats, advanced safety technology and driver alert systems. It not only looks a lot more fashionable and premium than before; it has unbeatable features, including excellent fuel economy for a compact hatchback,” said Mr Glenn Tan, Deputy Chairman and Managing Director, Tan Chong International Limited.

“For the driver, the Note e-POWER offers a unique and rewarding driving experience, and accelerates instantly and smoothly. It also operates very quietly, much like a full-EV, but doesn’t require plug-in charging. It’s perfect for those looking for a stylish yet fuss-free and economical city runabout.”
