This is the new Range Rover Sport Black edition

By topgear, 15 July 2020

Move over, AMG GT Black Series, because this is the new Range Rover Sport HSE Dynamic Black and, well, it’s not actually that interesting… sorry.

The Black is one of many new special edition Range Rovers to welcome the 2021 model year, and this one features the exterior Black Pack, 21- or 22-inch black wheels, privacy glass, an all-black interior and either black or grey paint. Hang on, grey?

It’s also joined by the RR Sport HSE Silver (which comes with seven colour options, one of which is bronze) and the SVR Carbon Edition, both of which you can see below. The SVR of course is the flagship 575hp Sport, and the Carbon Edition gets an exposed bonnet, 22-inch wheels and carbon bits inside and out. There’s also a carbonfibre engine cover for that supercharged 5.0-litre V8.

The full-size Range Rover hasn’t escaped the special edition treatment either. Adding to last month’s Range Rover Fifty is the new Westminster (based on the Vogue), the Westminster Black and the SVAutobiography Dynamic Black. If we’re honest, we’re completely lost.

What’s not lost on us is Land Rover’s new range of Ingenium diesel engines that replace the old V6 and V8 diesels. The 3.0-litre straight six features 48V mild hybrid technology and comes in either D300 or D350 forms. Apparently, there’ll also be a D250 sold in Italy.

So, what do we think Internet? Would any of this news make you more likely to pull the trigger on a Range Rover?
