Rolls-Royce World Tour : Rolling Perfection

By topgear, 22 April 2014

Singapore - Formed in 1904, Rolls-Royce was created following the historic meeting of Charles Stewart Rolls and Henry Royce in Manchester, England.

Henry Royce was a successful electrical engineer and businessman, and Charles Rolls was a pioneer in the industry of aviation and automotive.

These two passionate individuals from completely different backgrounds shared one common vision; to sell the magnificently engineered Royce motor cars as well as providing excellence to the discerning public.

Built on that partnership, the name Rolls-Royce has combined the spirit of their illustrious forebears with ground-breaking technology and visionary engineering techniques to create a legacy of unique hand-built Phantom, Ghost and Wraith cars that define luxury in every detail.

Debuting the first touring exhibition of the brand in Asia on 22 April 2014 at the Flower Dome, Gardens by the Bay, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars held the first extensive exhibition of its kind to showcase the Rolls-Royce brand, design, craftsmanship, and bespoke services in the region.

A celebration of contemporary super-luxury, Rolls Royce embraces its heritage and congratulates itself on achieving 110 years of effortless, iconic motoring.

The exhibition presented a selection of the brand's latest cars, as well as the Ghost V-Specification, the brand's most powerful four door saloon, equipped with an effortless 6.6 litre Rolls-Royce V12 engine.

Delivering an acceleration to 100 km/h in 4.9 seconds, with 593hp, this unique powertrain has a 30bhp power increase on all Ghost V-Specification motor cars. This is the first time the car is being presented in Singapore since its introduction in 2009.

Amongst the collection is the Wraith, the two door fastback which is the most contemporary model from Rolls-Royce, with its V12 engine and 624hp, and the Phantom Series II, which is Rolls-Royce's flagship model for super-luxury motor cars, with a V12 engine that produces 453hp.

With its spaceframe entirely hand-welded, it is strong and lightweight, and serves as the foundation of the car's extraordinary driving prowess.

Driving a brand that is the epitome of individualisation, Rolls-Royce Bespoke business allows the Rolls  to be completely customisable by its owners; up to 95% of Rolls-Royce cars purchased last year were personalised.

With highly-trained artisans skilled in paint, wood and leather, anything is possible to make your Rolls-Royce your own. As commissioning a Rolls-Royce is akin to commissioning a work of art, these artisans flew down specially to our little island to demonstrate their expertise as well as talk to the public about their work for the brand.

An exclusive collection of travel and lifestyle accessories for men and women such as leather bags, wallets, cufflinks, pens, mousemats and scale models of Rolls-Royce motor cars were also available for sale, establishing the brand as a luxury lifestyle brand, allowing the guests to bring home a little memento of the wondrous exhibition of this luxurious name.

As Sir Henry Royce said, 'Strive for perfection in everything you do.' Rolls-Royce continues to produce the very best motor cars in the world, presenting perfection with pride.
