Behind-The-Scenes TGS#31: BMW M3 CRT

By davidkhoo, 28 September 2014

Singapore - It's not very long before we pick up the two cars that the heavens open in an almighty deluge!

We take shelter in a multi-storey carpark for detail shots... notice how nondescript the CRT is, with just the Melbourne Red accents. Bear in mind that even the E46 M3 CSL had small 'CSL' emblems around the car.

Again, apart from the Melbourne Red accents, Frozen Silver paint colour and two unpainted slivers of carbonfibre (bootlid and front underspoiler), there's little else to clue you into this car's special edition status, because a lot of the good stuff is inside!

Just look at the gorgeous carbonfibre weave on the seatbacks of the front bucket seats. Cabin is no-nonsense with striking Sakhir Orange highlights: Alcantara steering wheel, sports seats and very little to configure ' as should be the case for all driver's cars! As a side-note, CRT stands for Carbon Racing Technology...

Here's a front view of said seats; sculpting and support are fantastic. The range of mounting points means it shouldn't be too difficult to get into the perfect driving position, but since the driver's seat in this case was mounted for its 6+ft owner, it was a tad too low for me :p

After the rain, we found ourselves in the vicinity of Bollywood Veggies, so we decided to make a pit stop for lunch. the cafe serves hot food all the way till about 6pm, so it's a chill place to take an afternoon breather ' we'd previously used the location for our Honda 'kiddie' Odyssey feature in TGS#30.
