Singapore - Cycle & Carriage Kia has started to sell the new Sorento SUV in Singapore. The fourth-generation seven-seater Sorento is powered by a 2.2-litre Smartstream turbocharged diesel engine that delivers 200hp at 3,800rpm and 440Nm of torque, with transmission duty handled by the brand's eight-speed wet double-clutch transmission (8DCT).

The Sorento (with Tech Pack) is the most high-tech car that Kia has ever made, and features technology to enhance safety, connectivity and infotainment. The cabin features Kia’s new 12.3-inch high-resolution digital instrument cluster with Blind-Spot View Monitor (BVM).

It is also combined with the 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system to display information (including the Surround View Monitor) within the driver’s line of sight to create a seamless design for a wide-screen user experience. The infotainment system offers both Apple CarPlay, as well as Android Auto.

The Sorento offers a suite of active and passive safety features in the form of Kia’s Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) (available with Tech Pack only). ADAS comprises Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA) technology with pedestrian, cyclist and vehicle detection that also detects oncoming traffic when making a turn at a junction. The Sorento is also available with Blind-spot Collision-Avoidance Assist (BCA), Smart Cruise Control with Stop & Go (SCC) and Lane Keeping Assist (LKA).

Kia Lane Keeping Assist (LKA), controls acceleration, braking and steering depending on the vehicles in front. LKA operates at speeds up to 180km/h, using camera and radar sensors to maintain a safe distance from the car in front, while monitoring road markings to keep the Sorento in the centre of its lane.

Kia's new SUV platform provides superior space for people and cargo. Passengers in the 2nd row will have dedicated aircon vents and USB ports, while those in the 3rd row can enjoy dedicated aircon vents as well and benefit from easier access thanks to a feature that allows users to fold down the second-row seats at the touch of a button.
