BMW M Town comes to the Pasir Panjang Power Station in Singapore with the M3 CS as guest star

Pasir Panjang Power Station, Singapore - One of the best ways to grow a brand is to build a community, that is, where you treat the owners as partners instead of just another statistic in your sales report.

All the great brands are familiar with this, because there's no stronger advocate than word-of-mouth from an owner who feels valued and engaged, because the sales process arguably continues long beyond the registration of the car.

BMW M has massive street-cred and an even bigger fanbase of owners and enthusiasts to rival the dopest street brand.

And this was very apparent as more than 600 guests celebrated the brand in Singapore at the invite-only BMW ///M Town 2023 on Saturday, 24 June.

Held at the decommissioned Pasir Panjang Power Station, the festivities started that morning with test-drives of the latest M and M Performance models, with early attendees enjoying a preview of the M3 CS.

The G80 M3 CS is powered by the same 550hp engine found in the G82 M4 CSL Coupe (read our G82 M4 CSL review HERE) and features similar lightweight elements to shed weight.

The Frozen Pure White body-colour of the launch car is unique to the M3 CS, as is the golden bronze finish of the alloy rims and in this case, the optional carbon-ceramic brakes that have been specified on the car.

The red-black theme of the cabin is satisfyingly racy, with a carbonfibre centre console, Alcantara-clad steering wheel and lightweight carbonfibre-backed sports seats for the front occupants.

Needless to say, the suspension components of M3 CS have been enhanced to deliver more visceral driving thrills than the 'regular' M3 Competition (read our G80 M3 Competition review HERE).

However, the M3 CS is meant to be one of those cars you can comfortably drive to/from the grocery store in the evenings after work, yet can tackle the Sepang Circuit on the weekends.

“From the moment guests pulled up, they felt the power of BMW M all around,” said Mr. Lars Nielsen, Managing Director, BMW Group Asia.

“While the range of BMW M vehicles captivated everyone’s attention on arrival, it was the all-new BMW M3 CS that made heads turn. The latest special edition from BMW M GmbH boasts a 550hp six-cylinder in-line engine with an 8spd M Steptronic transmission, and the M xDrive intelligent all-wheel-drive system. As a result, the M3 CS impresses with 0 to 100 km/h in 3.4secs and a supreme driving experience that can be enjoyed from each of its four seats. The BMW M3 CS is built at the BMW Group Plant Munich, for a limited run, with only a handful of units available in Singapore."

“BMW M Town was an unforgettable experience that stimulated your senses of sight, sound and taste,” continued Nielsen.

“From a range of the latest BMW M models on display, such as the M2 and XM, to the stimulating musical performances, to the delectable selection of food and beverage from official food partner The Maha Co, official beer partner Heineken Silver, and official liquor partner Martell, we had it all. This event was proof that BMW M is not just about the metal – it’s about the community and the desire to celebrate the most powerful letter in the world.”
