Does the Maxus MIFA 9 hit all the right notes in Singapore?

Village Hotel Sentosa, Singapore - Cycle & Carriage Singapore takes aim at the premium all-electric MPV segment with the Maxus MIFA 9.

With prices starting from just under S$300k at time of writing, the MIFA 9 is touted as being engineered from ground-up as a premium MPV (as opposed to converted from a van).

It isn't just purely functional either, because with the second-row Captain's seats and commodious third-row, a whole suite of active/passive safety, as well as entertainment/comfort features, the posh proceedings in the cabin let it stand toe-to-toe against more established players in the premium MPV field.

Even with the third-row in use, the boot-space will accommodate up to four cabin-sized suitcases standing upright, with 'frunk' storage also available to hold smaller items.

The 90kWh battery capacity returns a range of around 435km, and it can be charged from 30 to 80 per cent in just 30 minutes on DC power. The 180kW electric motor boasts 350Nm, and it'll cruise to 100km/h from standstill in 9.2secs.

"As the first full-electric premium MPV in the market, the Maxus MIFA 9 represents a significant leap forward for the Maxus brand and the electric vehicle industry as a whole," said Ms. Dawn Pan, Chief Operating Officer of Multi-Franchise Operations at Cycle & Carriage.

"With its exceptional range, luxurious interior and advanced features, the MIFA 9 offers a new level of convenience, comfort and sustainability. We are confident that this groundbreaking vehicle will define the premium MPV segment in Singapore."
