Shell Singapore launches new fuel formula, providing improved performance and economy

Jewel, Changi Airport, Singapore - Shell today announced their new and improved high-efficiency Shell V-Power and FuelSave fuels.

Shell says that across their range of petrol and diesel fuels, their new formulation now has deposit-targeting technology, which not only is designed to clean the engine; their FuelSave range also provides drivers with additional range per-tank.

Mr Doong Shiwen, General Manager of Shell Mobility Singapore commented, “Throughout the more than 100 years of serving motorists in Singapore, we have continued to grow with our customers to meet their evolving mobility needs. While electric vehicle charging now makes up a rapidly-growing part of our business, internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles will still predominantly be the vehicle of choice for our customers today. Our latest advancement in fuel technology is a testament to our commitment to continuous innovation.

From our Shell FuelSave fuels helping drivers go up to 15km further per tank, to our best performance fuel, Shell V-Power, maximising engine performance to keep their engine running like new, Shell is committed to making our customers’ life journeys better, no matter the fuel pumped.”

Shell’s latest fuel formula is a result of five years of research and tests by a team of 150 fuel scientists.

The new version of Shell V-Power is boosted with three times more cleaning and protection molecules, and Shell claims it “100% cleans critical engine parts to fully rejuvenate engine performance.” It also protects against corrosion.

Shell FuelSave 98 and 95 on the other hand, are now able to clean up to 65% of harmful engine deposits. It also protects against corrosion, wear and future build-up on vital engine parts. When comparing with market average deposit levels in other fuels, Shell says that based on a 50 litre tank, their fuel efficiency increases by up to 2%, or 15km of increased range.

Shell FuelSave Diesel also boasts dual-action cleaning technology, formulated to remove harmful deposits, while it also prevents future build-up of future Diesel Injector Deposits (IDIDs). It also protects and keeps the Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) system clean. In all, controlled tests have proven a 19km increase in range per-tank.
