You can now make your electric motor look like a V8

Want to convert your classic into an EV but worried that whenever you pop the bonnet it’ll look like there’s been an explosion in PC World?

Good news! Canadian company Webb Motorworks has designed a way to mask electric motors so that they look like old-school American engines.

Yep, these e-Crates can be had in small block, flathead or Hemi V8 forms, and there’ll even the option of a V12 at some point soon. It’s not just a vanity project either – each motor can be plugged straight into the corresponding classic using the standard engine mounts. In fact Webb reckons you can install the full powertrain in a weekend. Clever.

The electric motor stats will vary depending on customer request, but there’s the option of between 250 and 375bhp combined with 700Nm of torque. You’ll also be able to fit your own standard exhaust manifold and hollowed out carburettor to complete the look.

Get a look at the SEMA pictures above to see how the motors look in a ’32 Ford Deuce Coupe, a ’57 Chevrolet Bel Air convertible and a ‘69 Camaro Z/28. Thoughts, Internet?
