The one-off special will be auctioned online later this year

The Rolls Royce Phantom is a rather special car. The extended wheelbase version starts at S$2+m, for Pete’s sake, and that’s before you’ve even specced the gold-plated Spirit of Ecstasy or the lambswool carpets. Admit it -; you just would.

It’s an exclusive car then. But what if you want a true one-off? A design of Phantom that no other buyer in the world could have. Well, worry no more, because the teaser sketch above previews a bespoke Rolls Royce Phantom that will be built to celebrate the classic British firm’s 115th anniversary this year.

And yes, before you ask, it will be red. In fact, the metallic red paint will be specially formulated for this car and will be applied in five layers -; each of which will be hand-polished for more than five hours. Blimey.

Not wanting to be outdone though, the interior wood will get six coats of lacquer and the leather will be crafted from no less than nine hides. We like a bit of one-upmanship.

So far, we also know that there will be a bespoke clock fitted to the dash, and being an anniversary edition, we can expect plenty of date-stamped badges to remind the buyer just how unique they are.

Ah yes, the buyer. Interested parties will have to get practising their mouse-clicking speed and remember to pay the Wi-Fi bills, because Rolls is set to auction this car online in collaboration with RM Sotheby’s. Is a one-off Rolls Royce the ultimate statement piece?
