Alpina turns 50... apart from the festivites, two 'birthday' editions have been created: the B5 Edition 50 and the B6 Edition 50
Family-owned (and run) company Alpina celebrates its 50th year of business in 2015. In case you're wondering, Alpina is more than just a BMW tuner and bespoke specialist (well, if you said it's in the wine business, you wouldn't be wrong either!), since it has evolved from its motorsports tuning roots in the 1960s to the manufacture and sale of completely re-worked BMW 'wolf-in-sheep's-clothing' variants today ' the most distinctive traits of any Alpina model are discreet styling, effortless performance and (to the surprise of many) sublime comfort.
Following its success in tuning, the 'greenlight' was given to this Alpina 'unit' by then-BMW board member for sales, Paul G. Hahnemann, and the company was officially founded in 1965.
Festivities for the anniversary will be held in June at the company's HQ, in Buchloe in the Allg??u, with the introduction of two edition models: the BMW ALPINA B5 Bi-Turbo EDITION 50 and the BMW ALPINA B6 Bi-Turbo EDITION 50 ' two cars that, with their 600bhp respectively, can rightfully claim the crown within their respective segments. They follow the traditional traces of their equally exclusive and sporty ancestors, the B7 S Turbo models based on the BMW 5 Series and 6 Series of the 80s.
In Singapore, in addition to the celebratory prices on the current range of Alpina models, the local distributor, Alpina Singapore has also created a limited edition ALPINA 50th Anniversary Flashpay Card that can be purchased by collectors for just S$50, which is available from the showroom at 8 Chang Charn Road, Singapore 159637.
