Kah Motor launches the 2022 Honda HR-V DX & HR-V e:HEV in Singapore

Singapore - Kah Motor Co. Sdn. Bhd. has launched the Japan-built 2022 Honda HR-V compact SUV in both e:HEV hybrid and DX petrol powertrains (DX: S$122,999 w/COE; e:HEV: S$150,999 w/COE), the second e:HEV in the local Honda line-up after the Jazz e:HEV was launched earlier last year.

Mr. Nicholas Wong, General Manager of Kah Motor, says, “The new generation Honda HR-V is refreshed with a modern seamless and clean design for customers to drive with confidence and for those who seek a driving experience that appeals to five senses. The HR-V has evolved with a new powertrain, a new electronic platform and a strong aesthetic proportion offering a high level of comfort for all occupants.”

The sleekly-styled HR-V's cabin is designed around Honda’s ‘Man-Maximum, Machine-Minimum’ (M/M) principle, which relies on clever packaging to retain its predecessor's class-leading interior space.

Loading and unloading are a cinch in spite of the HR-V's sporty coupe-inspired roofline. The power tailgate is eminently convenient for hands-full loading thanks to the hands-free operation, with a 'walk-away close' feature thanks to the smart key proximity function that sees it automatically close once you (and the smart key) move away from the car.

The cabin exudes a modern chic, with the use of contemporary fabrics and soft-touch materials so all the touch-points are emotive. It's not just a pretty to look at, there's proper utility to the cabin, with ample charging points, cupholders, storage bins and multiple seat configurations thanks to Honda's ULTRA system for different load-lugging needs.

What's interesting is the trick 'Air Diffusion System', which directs a stream of air along the front windows to the roof to create a vortex of air that mimics natural wind and ensures all the car's occupants are kept equally cool.

Some of the tech goodies include wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity via the nine-inch digital audio interface, but it isn't all just fun and games either.

Like the Jazz, the HR-V is now equipped with Honda Sensing, which is underpinned by a state- of-the-art wide-angle camera and a high-speed image processing chip.

The Honda Sensing suite features a range of safety technologies and driver assistance systems, including a first for the HR-V, Hill Descent Control.

The HR-V DX is animated by a 1.5-litre DOHC i-VTEC 4cyl that delivers 118hp/6600rpm and 142Nm/4300 rpm, while the HR-V e:HEV comprises two electric motors connected to a 1.5-litre DOHC i-VTEC petrol engine and a lithium-ion battery to deliver 131hp / 4000rpm-8000rpm and 253Nm from 0-3500rpm.

Like the Jazz e:HEV, the HR-V e:HEV features three interchangeable drive systems that switch automatically depending on driving conditions: Engine, Hybrid, Electric.

The HR-V features three driving modes, just like the Civic: Sport, Normal, Econ and switching the gear-shifter to 'B' engages the regenerative braking effect similar to that of an electric car.

"We are also delighted to introduce the HR-V in a hybrid variant, Honda’s e:HEV hybrid powertrain offers an outstanding fuel economy with a fun to drive experience. The advanced e:HEV hybrid powertrain offers a unique full hybrid experience by combining strong performance with refinement. Without the hassle of charging and with the responsive performance and efficiency of an electric vehicle, the HR-V is suitable in every driving situation," explains Mr. Nicholas Wong.

The HR-V is available in six colours: Premium Opal White Silver (pearl), Platinum White (pearl), Meteoroid Grey (metallic), Crystal Black (pearl), Premium Crystal Red (metallic) and Sand Khaki (pearl).

Mr. Nicholas Wong adds, "The new HR-V successfully represents Honda’s brand reputation for quality, practicality and functionality as it represents a fun individual all within a compact package."
