Singapore- Porsche unveiled the new 911 Carrera GTS and Cayenne GTS in front of over 200 guests. The GTS variants are the extra-sporty offerings over the standard models.

GTS stands for Gran Turismo Sport, which was a new type of vehicle developed to be fast, safe and comfortable. The first Porsche GTS can trace their origins to a 72 km race, held in 1964 at the Targa Florio in Sicily.

The 911 Carrera GTS produces 430 hp, good for a zero to 100 km/h sprint in 4.0 seconds with the cabriolet 0.2 seconds behind. The GTS model comes fitted with the Sport Chrono package and the PASM active damper system that offers a lower ride height for sportier handling.

The 911 GTS differentiates itself from the standard 911 with wide flared rear wheel arches and a wide track. For further visual cues, matt black 20 inch wheels with centre wheel locks, special trim elements, smoked bi-xenon headlights and black chrome-plated exhaust tailpipes characterise the rear of the GTS.

The Cayenne GTS has a new 3.6 litre V6 bi-turbo engine. With 20 hp increase over the V8, it makes 440 hp and 600 Nm of torque, accelerating from 0 to 100 km h in 5.2 seconds (5.1 seconds with the Sport Chrono package).

The Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) damping system lowers the Cayenne GTS by 24 millimetres with the optional air suspension lowering it by 20 millimetres. Further standard features include the brakes from the Cayenne Turbo with 390 millimetre discs on the front axle (358 millimetres at the back).

Carrying unique GTS visual enhancements, the outstanding GTS details include the 20 inch wheels in the RS Spyder design, the exhaust tail pipes, the bi xenon headlights- inner apertures and the fittings of the darkened LED rear lights.
