Lotus Eletre. A sneak peek at the much-awaited electric SUV

Singapore - Wearnes Automotive, Lotus’s official dealership here provided us with a sneak peek of their first electric SUV, the Eletre.

With Lotus becoming part of Geely, alongside Volvo, Polestar and Proton, the British car brand has enjoyed a fresh injection of funds, and also gets access to much-needed componentry from its affiliated automotive brands.

About the car, the Eletre is built upon the group’s EPA (Electric Premium Architecture), which is derived from SEA (Sustainable Experience Architecture), the latter which vehicles like the Polestar 3 is derived from. Also, the Eletre will be the first Lotus to be built in China - which is at this point a major EV market.

The paper beside the display SUV, shows that it delivers 603hp and 710Nm. The numbers translate to the SUV capable of reaching 100km/h in 4.5 seconds, and it has a top speed of 258km/h. Also according to Lotus, the Eletre’s range works out to be around 600km. This is not all for the electric SUV, as Lotus has suggested an even more brutal version, producing something above 900hp is in the works, and boasts a sub 3-second 0-100km/h time. We can expect to see the Eletre officially here in 2024.

Also in development, there is a Porsche Taycan-rivalling sedan, which at the moment is codenamed Type 133.
