Porsche demonstrates its expertise in e-mobility with Porsche E-Performance

Electric mobility and performance. Two automotive terms that at first glance seem incompatible. But it is a myth that has well and truly been put to rest thanks to Porsche, who have redefined e-mobility with Porsche E-Performance.

Ever since the debut of the 918 Spyder in 2010, Porsche has demonstrated that supercar performance can genuinely work together with electrification without compromises. The new Taycan furthers that drive towards electrified performance for the company, and Porsche’s range of E-Hybrid plug-in models offer the ideal combination of sustainable electric technology with the iconic driving experience that customers have come to expect for decades.

Porsche E-Performance is the essence of Porsche, brought forward to the electric era.

Porsche E-Hybrid models set the standard

Every Porsche E-Hybrid model sets new standards in their segment, much like any other Porsche. They offer maximum power output with minimal fuel consumption, with their tightly-integrated system of electric hybrid drive and combustion engine drivetrain capable of delivering peak performance while taking driving enjoyment to a new level.

The E-Hybrid models underscore Porsche’s commitment in using its expertise in e-mobility to develop products which uphold the highest standards that Porsche sets for itself.

A true sportscar experience, no compromises

The focal point of every Porsche is the driver, and it is the driving experience that has to be the priority. Even with electrification, every Porsche is a sports car in its segment, and Porsche’s E-Hybrid models have to fit that criteria first and foremost, with no exceptions.

Take the Porsche Cayenne E-Hybrid, for instance. It is an SUV like no other, combining its high-powered 3.0-litre V6 turbo engine with an electric drivetrain to deliver performance that truly defies expectations. With a maximum system power output of 462hp, and 700Nm of maximum system torque, the Cayenne E-Hybrid is capable of going from 0-100km/h in just 5.0 seconds (with Sport Chrono Package), and hits a top speed of 253km/h. It is also the first Porsche plug-in hybrid model to be available with the Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control (PDCC) system as an option.

It’s a similar story for the Porsche Panamera 4 E-Hybrid, Panamera 4 E-Hybrid Executive and Panamera 4 E-Hybrid Sport Turismo. Each produces a maximum power output of 462hp and 700Nm of torque from their 2.9-litre V6 bi-turbo engine, and go from 0-100km/h in 4.6 seconds (with Sport Chrono Package), or 4.7 seconds (with Sport Chrono Package) for the Panamera 4 E-Hybrid Executive. Top speed is rated at 278km/h for the Panamera 4 E-Hybrid and Panamera 4 E-Hybrid Executive, and 275km/h for the Panamera 4 E-Hybrid Sport Turismo.

With chassis technologies such as the Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) system (optional on the Cayenne E-Hybrid) and Porsche 4D Chassis Control, the E-Hybrid models retain the same dynamic sporting characteristics that define them as genuine high-performance cars that are the hallmarks of any Porsche.

A complete ecosystem package

Porsche E-Performance is more than just about electric driving. It also encompasses everything else that makes e-mobility a sustainable solution for drivers. From the electric powertrains, to the fast charging capability, it’s the entire ecosystem that showcases Porsche’s expertise in e-mobility, and highlights Porsche as a leader in an all-electric future.

Porsche’s E-Hybrid models are plug-in hybrids, and as such offer greater capacity for all-electric motoring. The Cayenne E-Hybrid, for instance, has an all-electric range of up to 44km*, and it can travel at speeds of up to 135km/h on electric power alone. The Panamera 4 E-Hybrid, Panamera 4 E-Hybrid Executive and Panamera 4 E-Hybrid Sport Turismo meanwhile can travel up to 51km* on electric power alone and hit a top speed of 140km/h in that mode.

All Porsche E-Hybrid models also come with a Porsche Mobile Charger (AC power) for installation at home, further underlining Porsche’s commitment to providing infrastructure to serve its customer’s e-mobility needs.

At the heart of it all, while Porsche E-Performance is a showcase of Porsche’s technology and engineering prowess together with their expertise in e-mobility, the ultimate goal remains the same: to offer the finest driving experience that can only be had with a Porsche.

*All-electric driving range may vary depending on driving conditions, tyres, and vehicle settings.
